The Safe Center offers free, confidential, specialized services for adult and child victims of domestic violence/dating violence, and sexual assault. Services we offer include:

  • Legal Services: Our legal staff provides a variety of services in Nassau County Courts to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, rape/sexual assault, and elder abuse.
  • Rape & Sexual Assault Services: Free individual and group counseling is available to all survivors of sexual assault.

Donate Goods or Services

Our team collects items for use by our clients and Safe Home residents. Raffle and Auction Item donations can also be made to support our fundraising efforts. All donation drop-offs are by appointment only. We are not able to accept unscheduled donations. For a list of our current item needs or to schedule please contact inkind@tscli.org.

Hospital Advocacy (SAFER Volunteer)

After a 40-hour training, SAFER volunteers will provide accompaniment, advocacy, and support to child and adult victims of sexual abuse, domestic partner/intimate partner/family violence, and sex trafficking in the emergency room as they receive acute medical care. Thirty hours (30) of training are provided in-person at The Safe Center and the remaining 10 hours are provided in a virtual, self-paced format. SAFER Interest Form

Classroom Volunteers

The Safe Center utilizes volunteers to work directly with children and youth in Nassau and Suffolk elementary, middle and high schools. Volunteers are provided with free training to present classroom workshops about child abuse, bullying, online safety and sexual harassment in Nassau and Suffolk counties. There is no teaching experience required and many of our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds.

Special Events Volunteer

The Development Team needs volunteers to help execute at our special events. The Safe Center has multiple major events each year including our TSCLI 5K, Swing For Hope Golf Outing, and Annual Gala. Volunteers help with event set up/breakdown, check in, raffles, silent auction, and more. Volunteers are recruited as needed for events. We also are looking for volunteers who are willing to donate services in kind for the following opportunities at events:
• Photographers
• Musicians/Bands/DJ
• Food/Beverage Vendors
• Artists

Education & Training

The heart of abuse prevention and response is education and training. The Education Department of The Safe Center offers extensive learning opportunities on emerging topics related to abuse using cutting edge research for all sectors of society: individuals, neighborhoods, community organizations, schools, colleges and universities, religious institutions, fraternal groups, small businesses, service providers, corporations and everything in-between.
